The Apalachee boys varsity basketball team secured a narrow victory against Discovery on Saturday, clinching a 52-49 win at home.
The standout performance was led by Aiden Pierce and Nate Valles, both contributing 13 points each to the team’s success.
This win followed a challenging road trip to Franklin County on Thursday, Dec. 7, where the Wildcats faced tough competition and succumbed to a 56-44 defeat. Undeterred, Apalachee is gearing up for their upcoming matchups with determination and a focus on bouncing back.
The 3-7 Wildcats are preparing for a crucial face-off against M.L. King (7-1) on Friday, Dec. 15, at home. Following this challenging matchup, the team anticipates a rematch with East Jackson (5-3) on Wednesday, Dec. 20, again on their home court.
In their previous encounter with East Jackson on Nov. 28, Apalachee emerged victorious with a score of 74-62.
As the Wildcats face a formidable lineup in the coming weeks, they look to build on their strengths and learn from previous challenges.
The Apalachee boys varsity basketball team, under the leadership of Coach Ty Rowland, remains focused on honing their skills and making strides this season as they compete in a competitive AAAAAA Region 8.
